Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top with a fork.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the whole milk, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Pour evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in completely.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use Mexican crema instead of whole milk. You can also add a layer of whipped cream and berries before serving.
