Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs.
Brown the meatballs in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Remove from pot and set aside.
Add carrots, celery, and onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in chicken broth, return meatballs to the pot, and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add tortellini and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
Serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a bay leaf or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
