  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 0.25 cup Brown Sugar, packed Adjust to taste
  • 0.5 cup Cinnamon Ground

Preparation Steps

  • Combine the rolled oats, water (or milk), salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon in the basin of a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 8 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract just before serving.
  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings like extra cinnamon, berries, or nuts.

Notes

This recipe is best made with old-fashioned rolled oats. Steel-cut oats will require significantly longer cooking times and a different liquid ratio. If using milk, you may need to stir occasionally to prevent scorching on the bottom.
