Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pound Cod fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Carefully place the cod fillets into the hot skillet, presentation side down.
  • Sear for about 4-5 minutes, until a golden-brown crust forms.
  • Flip the fillets. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. As the butter melts, tilt the pan and baste the fish with the garlic butter for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cod is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Remove the cod from the skillet and place on serving plates. Pour the pan sauce over the fish and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Serve immediately with your favorite sides such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
