  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Boil for exactly 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and peanut butter until smooth.
  • Add the quick-cooking oats and stir until well combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper or parchment paper to cool and set.
  • Allow cookies to cool completely before storing.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
