  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup butter unsalted
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Drain the sweet potatoes well. Return them to the pot.
  • Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the pot. Mash with a potato masher or a fork until smooth and creamy.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon. You can also add brown sugar for a sweeter version.
