Peel and dice potatoes. In a large pot, combine potatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Stir in milk, bacon, cheese, and chives. Heat through until cheese is melted and soup is heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
