  • 2 medium sweet potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the diced sweet potatoes to the skillet. Stir to combine with the turkey mixture.
  • Cover the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

This dish is great on its own or served with a side salad.
