Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and shape it into a Christmas tree shape on a baking sheet. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
