Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in eggs, then add the vanilla.
Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add this to the batter along with salt.
Stir in the flour and chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
