  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 medium ripe bananas mashed

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Gently fold in the mashed bananas.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra decadent treat, you can add chocolate chips to the batter or drizzle with chocolate ganache after cooling.
